Greenspaces bring people together outdoors. The conspicuous presence of people increases surveillance, by neighbors which tends to discourage criminals! One of the ways Avondale promotes beautifying our neighborhood is by recognizing a lovely "Greenspace" as a "YARD OF THE MONTH" This is a tangible example of a tidy house that has a well kept lawn, seasonal flowers or other landscape accomplishments and represents the best of our neighborhoods ongoing efforts at improvements! Take a drive thru the neighborhood and look for the Yard of the Month Sign--The Winning yard is recognized at each Avondale Regular Meeting and appears on the Avondale website at www.avondaleassociation.org. |
