Earlier this month, the Avondale Association was recognized for its efforts in enriching the lives of the residents at The Women's Home.
Avondale Association president, Ed Gonzales, received the 2007 Good Neighbor Award from The Home’s Executive Administrator, Holly McDonald, at a ceremony in the Briar Club.
The event acknowledged the tremendous contributions of the many volunteers and organizations that assist The Women's Home to accomplish its mission of helping women in crisis to rebuild their lives.
"The Women's Home, said Ed, “has been a great community partner, and for more that than just providing a place for the Avondale Association to hold its many meetings and events."
"At the ceremony, I was pleasantly surprised at the extent and depth of the support The Women's Home receives to sustain and expand its programs and services, not only here in our neighborhood,” Ed continued, “but in the Spring Branch area, too."
